Drugs come in hundreds of variations and are used in many different
ways. Often they lead to users having physical or psychological problems
that affects their health, job, family and friends - and can lead
to crime to pay for a drug habit.
The way people react to drugs depends on factors like age, health
and how much and how often they are used. Using drugs often or over
a long period can lead to dependency.
British law calls certain substances 'controlled drugs' and places
them into three categories - A, B or C Class. Penalties vary depending
on the class and whether a person is convicted of using or supplying
to others.
