We provide a free service to adult residents (aged 18 or over) of the Bolton Metropolitan Borough who have problems with drug misuse and who are committed to achieving & maintaining abstinence. Details of specific services are shown below.
Monday to Friday: 9.15am to 5.00pm
Thursdays: 9.15pm to 8.00pm
First we find out what you want and need. Then, together, we develop a plan to tackle your concerns and work out goals for your treatment. This plan might include supported home detox, individual counselling sessions or joining a selection of groups within our project. Look at the services below and then see what's included in the "Structured Day Care Programme".
Acceptance for Home Detox will be dependant on certain criteria
and an assessment will need to take place by one of the home Detox
Nurses to establish appropriateness. Once clients have been assessed
as suitable for Home Detox, they will be seen on a daily basis,
Monday - Friday, either at home or at the Higher Bridge Project
until they have completed their detox. Arrangements will be made
where appropriate for clients to be visited or contacted at weekends.
The length of Detox will be dependent on individual circumstances
but usually ranges from 2-4 weeks. Therapies such as Acupuncture,
Electro-Stimulation Therapy and Relaxation Techniques can also be
used to assist clients during detox. Other prescribed medications
can also be used to help alleviate withdrawal symptoms. The Home
Detox Team will also offer support and treatment for those clients
who have already completed a Detox elsewhere and require Naltrexone.
