Unfortunately, there is no wheelchair access to the building; we can
arrange to see wheelchair users at another, more convenient, location
or we may be able to arrange a home visit for those with access difficulties.
Our service is free to anyone over 18 (for alcohol) or 19 (for drugs) who lives in the Leeds area and has problems with alcohol or drug misuse, or is worried about a family member or friend.
Monday to Friday: 9:00am to 5:00pm
Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 9:00am to 7:30pm
First we find out what you want and need. Then, together, we develop
a plan to tackle your concerns and work out goals for your treatment.
This plan might include individual counselling sessions, support sessions
or joining a selection of groups within our project.
We provide individual counselling sessions for those who want to
make behavioural changes relating to their substance misuse. We also
provide a one-to-one counselling service for relatives and partners
of substance misusers who feel in need of support.
In addition to our counselling service, we offer a therapeutic
support programme for individuals with alcohol and drug problems.
Our current programme includes helping people in the early stages
of dependence, with referral for detoxification if needed.
Our staff work in GP surgeries and health centres to offer shared
care in assessing, screening and supporting patients with a substance
misuse or alcohol problem. We help those in the early stages of
dependence to break the habit. We also train healthcare teams in
assessment, screening and interventions.
We invite all clients to use of our basement drop-in room, which
offers tea and coffee making facilities, use of a microwave and
fridge, TV and video, a pool table, books and games. It’s open Mon-Friday Mornings and afternoons for group activities. Please contact the office for a current timetable.
ADS centres offer an exciting range of Therapeutic and Complimentary therapies, educational training and social activities. Ring us or come and see us for details.
