First we find out what you want and need. Then, together, we develop a plan to identify your needs and work out goals for your treatment. This plan might include one to one sessions, attending workshops, alternative therapies, or a referral to other appropriate treatments.
We provide advice, information and support. The first step
following assessment may be one-to-one counselling, the option
to attend various workshops, alternative therapies, plus social,
leisure and educational activities. Where required, we arrange
access into in-patient / community detox and residential rehabilitation.
We have staff based in GP surgeries and health centres to offer
shared care in assessing, screening and supporting patients with
a substance abuse or alcohol problem. We help those in the early
stages of dependence to break the habit. We also train healthcare
teams in assessment, screening and interventions.
We help people to understand and deal with drink problems, giving
them and their family day-to-day support.
Getting into trouble with the law is often triggered or exacerbated by drug or alcohol problems. Our non-judgemental teams give intensive support and rapid access into treatment services, in custody suites, courts, probations offices, and prisons and in the community.
Preparing for life at the end of a sentence is crucial. We
work with prisoners before and after discharge, offering support
with housing, training and employment. We also operate a 24-hour
helpline 0808 161 1221.
This service offers a help and support to individuals on prescribed
benzodiazepines to embark upon a supported reduction programme
giving access to acupuncture, relaxation, one to one. We
work in collaboration with GP’s to compile individual reduction
regimes.
This programme offers an assortment of workshops which are delivered
in a supportive and comfortable environment. People with
substance misuse issues can join a wide range of therapeutic, educational
and social groups that are appropriate for their individual needs. Holistic
therapies e.g. Acupuncture, Massage and Acu-stimulation are also
provided. A support / advice group for friends and families
is also available.
This service trains and supports volunteers to work alongside
