How to find us

The Abstinence Service is located on Oldham Road near the centre of Ashton; it is a short walk from the bus or rail stations, opposite the swimming baths. Around the corner is the new IKEA store.

Opening times:

Monday to Thursday: 10.00am to 4.00pm
Saturdays: 12.30 to 3.00pm

Services delivered

We provide a free confidential service to adult residents (aged 18 and over) of the Tameside and Glossop areas, who are in the process of change and those who have had problems with drug or alcohol misuse.

Services include

Supported home detoxification in conjunction with substance misuse service
Support whilst reducing substitute medication
Counselling and advice
Access to structured and unstructured workshops
Complimentary therapies
Intensive support after detoxification
Referral to appropriate agencies
Exit planning for moving on

We have specialist Education, training and employment referral sources to help clients meet their educational and employment needs.
We liaise and co-operate with all other service providers in the district and can help clients address a wide range of problems, i.e. housing, debt, and skills shortages.
