Services

Community Alcohol Service

We're open daily and shortly to be opening two evening, to provide advice, information and support. The first step is one-to-one counselling, after which we can offer a number of treatment options if required, dependent upon your need. We can provide on-going support to help individuals, or their relatives/ friends.

Primary healthcare

Our staff work in GP surgeries and health centres to offer shared care in assessing, screening and supporting patients with an alcohol problem. We help those in the early stages of dependence to break the habit. We also train healthcare teams in assessment, screening and interventions.

Community Detox

Our detox nurse offers shared care in assessing, screening and supporting patients with alcohol problems. Our detox nurse works with the client in their own home supervising a home detox regime.

Widening Horizons

Widening Horizons was formed to support drug users recently released from prison. However, due to its success, it has now rolled out and is incorporating the alcohol services. There is a volunteer, befriending and mentoring scheme to provide 15 volunteers within the borough of Warrington to support the work of the hospital alcohol liaison nurse.
