What happens when we meet?

First we find out what you want and need. Then, together, we develop a plan to tackle your concerns and work out goals for your treatment. This plan might include individual counselling sessions or joining a selection of groups within our project. Look at the services below and then see what's included in the "Structured Integrated Day Care Programme".

Services

Structured Integrated Day Care Programme

Sessions take place in a supportive and comfortable environment in which you can feel secure. People with alcohol or drug problems, and others who are concerned, can join a wide range of groups - Therapeutic, Educational and Social - that are appropriate to their individual needs. Our current programme includes:

Pre-Dependant Alcohol Service

We're open 6 days a week to provide advice, information and support. The first step is referrals through local GP services and Primary Care Specialist Alcohol Workers, after which we can offer one-to-one counselling, community care assessment, working within groups, plus social and leisure activities. Where required, we refer for in-patient and residential care. If you are housebound we can visit you.

Primary healthcare

Our staff work in GP surgeries and health centres to offer shared care in assessing, screening and supporting patients with a substance abuse or alcohol problem. We help those in the early stages of dependence to break the habit. We also train healthcare teams to in assessment, screening and interventions.

Community Support Service

A wide-ranging service - open six days a week - offering drug users day-care, counselling and working with groups. We provide a Drop-In service, backed up with education, training and job advice, plus social and leisure facilities. We also offer services to people with alcohol problems.

The Law and You

Getting into trouble with the law is often triggered or exacerbated by drug or alcohol problems. Our non-judgemental teams give intensive support in custody suites, courts, probations offices, and prisons and in the community. Criminal Justice Clients in Fylde are offered access to our services through our office in St Annes.

We provide assessment for pre-sentence reports and supervision planning; we help people to break or contain habits; we organise social care under Drug Rehabilitation Requirements (DRRs).

Preparing for life at the end of a sentence is crucial, so we work with prisoners before and after discharge: advising on housing, training and looking for work as they resume life 'outside'. We operate a 24-hour helpline and volunteer and mentor schemes.

What we offer

ADS centres offer an exciting range of Therapeutic and Complimentary therapies, educational training and social activities. Ring us or come and see us for details.
