Why should you give to ADS?
Even the smallest donation can make a difference to the people ADS
helps. A few pounds will buy toys for the children of the clients
in our residential homes, or provide coffee and biscuits for our
drop-in services. Many of our clients want to learn new skills so
they can get employment – we help by providing computers and printers,
stationery and books, art and craft materials – all these are provided
through voluntary donations from people like you.
Larger donations will allow us to provide extra services - £200
will let us run an after school club for children affected by their
parents’ alcohol or drug problems for a month. £100 provides a course
of acupuncture to help combat withdrawal symptoms. Every penny donated
goes directly to help our clients – anyone affected by alcohol and
drug related problems.

Ways to give
- One off Donation - And giving is so simple –
just click on the donation button on our home page and make a donation
through CAF’s (Charity Aid Foundation) secure site or send a cheque
or postal order to ADS, FREEPOST NAT22843, Manchester, M9 9YW (Please
make cheques payable to ADS.)
- Increase the value of your gift - If you are
a UK taxpayer you can increase the value of your gift by 28% (as
at January 2008) by making a Gift Aid declaration. It
is very simple – just download the form on this site, complete
it and send it to us with your donation. Thanks – that extra
28% makes a real difference.
- Regular Giving – By giving just a small monthly
amount, direct from your bank account you can help ADS make a real
difference in the lives of those affected by drugs and alcohol

- Leaving a Legacy – This is a amazing way to
make a big impact on the lives of those who need help and make
a long term contribution. A legacy made to a registered charity,
such as ourselves, is free from inheritance tax.

sponsorship can bring genuine and lasting rewards to a company
and whatever the size of your gift, in the right hands it can achieve

- Alcohol free month – Could you spend a month
without drinking alcohol in support of ADS? You can ask your friends,
family and colleagues to sponsor you. Why not try this as an office
activity and get your company to sponsor you?
- Sponsored Abseil – Are you interested in doing
an abseil to raise money for ADS? There are various locations available
- from a quarry, to Manchester Town Hall and even The Printworks
building!
- Run your own event! – Organise a quiz night,
dinner party, cake sale, raffle, walk or many more. We
can provide advice and support for you along the way.
